Pierre Vallet XXO Hors D'Age Cognac (France) 750ML
Producer Notes: The Pierre Vallet XXO Hors d’Age Cognac is an “extra, extra old' blend of eaux-de-vie brought to you for the first time from Maison Pierre Vallet; a humble family-run Cognac house that has dipped its toes into production of the newest age denomination in the Cognac world and have created their very own Hors d’Age extra eaux-de-vie. What’s special about an XXO blend of Cognac is that it has a higher requirement for the minimum age of its components, compared with an ordinary XO blend, as the youngest component in an XXO must be at least 14 years.
Pierre Vallet is a humble close-knit family business, owned by the same family responsible for Maison Château de Montifaud. Run by Laurent and Elodie Vallet, who represent the 6th generation of the Vallet family, the brand is named after their great-grandfather and cherished ancestor Pierre Vallet, of course. At their Chateau Montifaud estate, the Vallet’s do everything themselves; grow the grapes, make wine and distill in their traditional Alambic Charentais. The Cognac is matured in barrels of French Limousin oak and bottled in-house. Pierre Vallet Cognac differs from Chateau de Montifaud eaux-de-vie, because Pierre Vallet blends contain grapes from both the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne terroirs.
As a well aged cognac, this eaux-de-vie may be bought with intent to impress guests and will always be well received - even at the most luxurious occasions.
