Producer Notes:  Chardonnay shows up in some remarkable places but few as breathtaking as the Roussillon where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. From vineyards just a stone's throw from the beach and within view of the historic Mont Canigou, Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage have created Novellum, a refined, aromatic and elegant Chardonnay that is aged in tank and neutral French barrels.



Wine Advocate,  90 Points:  Lafage's 2021 Novellum Chardonnay is a terrific value. Chardonnay aged on Viognier lees, with a small proportion of barrel aging, it's full-bodied, rich, round, mouth-coating and generous yet with a decent sense of balance. Peach, pineapple and gentle oak shadings all make appearances, and the wine finishes long, with an enlivening hint of brine.
