Passi di Orma Red Wine 2016 (Tuscany, Italy)
James Suckling: 93 Points: "A layered and powerful young red from Bolgheri with currants, chocolate and cedar undertones. Full-bodied, layered and polished with beautiful fruit and intensity. A solid and structured wine, highlighting the beauty of the vintage on the coast of Tuscany."
Wine Advocate: 90 Points: "Compared to the preceding vintage, the 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Passi di Orma delivers its primary fruit characteristics in a less obvious manner. There is dark plum and blackberry for sure but the spice, toast and tobacco tones take equal billing. This wine also shows a more robust construction with etched layers of mineral and campfire ash at the back. This vintage shows superior focus and definition. The blend is 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc."
