M. Chapoutier Banyuls 2017 (France)
Producer Notes: Deep ruby-garnet. Dried fruits, crystallized orange peel and freshly cracked black pepper on the nose. Rich layers of dried plum, dark chocolate and a hint of baking spices on the palate.
Delicious with dessert pairings such as, brownies, chocolate chips, chocolate cakes, peanut brittle, mixed dry fruit, prunes, dates, tapas, watermelon, chocolate ice cream and sorbets, foie gras, sweet and sour dishes, goat’s cheese and blue cheese.
Wine Advocate, 90 Points: "Chapoutier's 2017 Banyuls is made (like always) in a young, easy-drinking style. It offers up scents of milk chocolate and cherries on the nose, is relatively light-bodied in the mouth (16.5% alcohol) with silky tannins and a hint of almond skin, and finishes fruity, clean and refreshing."
