Anakota "Knights Valley" 2019 (Sonoma County, CA)
Producer Notes: An opaque, dark violet core of color gives rise to vibrant aromas of dried black currant, dried blackberry, and sun-dried Herbs de Provence. These powerful flavors wash across the palate along with dark chocolate covered espresso beans and very subtle toasted baking spices, indicating limited exposure to new French oak. Supple tannins frame the palate, while mouth-watering acidity provides a perfect counterbalance, leading to a long finish.
Wine Advocate, 94 Points: The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley, blended with 3% Petit Verdot, has a deep ruby-purple color and alluring aromas of black cherries, blueberries, thyme, aniseed and violet with touches of tobacco leaves and cedar. The medium-bodied palate has smooth, finely grained tannins and bright acidity, finishing long and floral. Its new French oak is integrating gracefully, and its bright, aromatic character makes this ideal for early drinking.
