Balletto "Estate" Pinot Noir 2018 (Russian River Valley, CA)
Producer Notes: The wine opens with savory and spicy potpourri aromatics that are followed with seductive dark fruits. There’s a lot of aromatic complexity, and the wine is ever changing with time in the glass. Its medium weight is nicely enhanced with notable tannins and acidity that keep it focused, balanced and taut. The overall impact is complex, impressive and delicious.
The 2018 Balletto Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was grown on seven different estate pinot vineyards. The sites range from quite rolling hills to steep and cold hillside plantings. This diverse combination adds distinct elements from each site and creates a complex wine with structure and grace.
Balletto Vineyards makes all of its wine from sustainably farmed estate vineyards located throughout the cool southern third of the Russian River Valley. It is one of the few Russian River wineries to be 100 percent estate grown and estate bottled, and specializes in vineyard-designated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are consistently elegant, balanced and delicious.
Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points: "This full-bodied wine goes deep and wide, offering concentrated and fairly complex flavors carried on a more generous texture than usual. It is packed with red and black cherries, some ripe plums and subtle cinnamon and tamarind flavors."
