Dragon's Tooth (by Trefethen) Red Wine 2018 (Napa Valley, CA)
Producer Notes: This wine opens with expressive aromas of cherry and blackberry accented with notes of fig, tobacco leaf, and sarsaparilla. Full-bodied and balanced, the integrated flavors of ripe dark fruit lead to a lush and abundant finish.

James Suckling, 94 Points: A rich, round red with plum, berry, chocolate and walnut character. Lots of cherry flavors. It’s full-bodied with round tannins and a delicious finish. 49% malbec, 27% petit verdot and 24% cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.
Jeb Dunnuck, 91 Points: Based largely on Malbec blended with 27% Petit Verdot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Red Blend Dragon's Tooth offers lots of smoked black fruits, toasty oak, chocolate, and darker, herbal, cedary notes to go with medium to full-bodied richness on the palate. The Petit Verdot becomes more obvious with time in the glass, and this rich, concentrated, yet elegant red blend has plenty to love. It's terrific today with a decant yet should easily evolve for a decade or more.
