Baldacci, Honey B Vineyard, Chardonnay 2021 (Carneros, CA)

Producer Notes: Chardonnay is one of the most versatile white wines which is why I enjoy making it! Whether you’re looking for a pool side summer sipper or a prelude to a multicourse meal, our Chardonnay can match all lifestyles. We barrel ferment in mostly neutral French oak barrels and gently stir the lees weekly for the entirety of the 10 months the wine is in cask. This results in a bridge-style sun-kissed California Chardonnay with mid-palate weight and a crisp, citrusy acidity. We make multiple picks from our five blocks to allow the different clones to present with the full range of their unique attributes. We encourage malolactic fermentation to start naturally which takes longer but makes for a more layered and nuanced profile. My goal is to create a Chardonnay that can feel light, elegant and pretty while also having enough weight and texture to be serious.

STRUCTURE: Refined and elegant with defined acidity and a long finish.
